How old are you?
30ish
How did you get into radio?
Like so many others, I started in hospital radio when I was around 15 years old. My first paid gig was working in radio news, as a music news reporter, and things went on from there.
What's the best bit of your job?
Right now it has to be playing the best tunes for East Berkshire and South Bucks and getting paid for it! Woohoo! ;-) In the past, its been pretty cool doing shows in several different countries around the world!
Who's the most famous person you've met?
Time 106.6’s Morning presenter Paul Owens…. No only joking, I’ve met lots of bands, movie stars, and politicians (yawn) over the years, but one of the coolest things was having a cup of tea and a chat with Simon Pegg when he was working on Shaun of the Dead.
What's the most embarrassing thing you've done on air?
When I was just starting out, I had a “day job” as well as doing overnights on a radio station, so as you can imagine, I lacked sleep! One night, I was soooo tired, I fell asleep on air and woke up with my head on the mixing desk - not good!
What's your favourite "radio story"?
When I was 15 at the Hospital Radio station where I started out hosting a show with the “voice of the balls” Alan Dedicoat.
Who's your favourite band/artist at the moment?
I'm totally loving the new album of covers from Seal which is due to be released soon.
Favourite song from the 60s or 70s?
For the 1960’s it has to beTom Jones – It’s not unusual. And yes, I do dance like Carlton from the Fresh Prince to it!!
For the 1970’s it has to be the one and only Luther Vandross – Never Too Much! Get that glitter jacket on!! Also, could I pick a Clash record too? ;-)
